Belly Fit Yoga coming to you this winter

I loved being able to reach so many of you with Yoga online this past fall.

It was a great experience!

So, I’m bringing Belly Fit Yoga back this winter, beginning in January.

It’s a brand new session, with brand new classes.

2 classes a week!

So, this winter I’m adding something new….

A shorter 30-minute wake-up Yoga class on Tuesday mornings.

I think this morning class will be a great new addition, perfect for getting your body ready for the day.

And, like Thursday’s class, it’ll be recorded, so if you can’t make it live, you’ll have access to it anytime you want during the 10 weeks.

As we continue to be restricted because of the pandemic, I know practices like Yoga are more important than ever.

They get your out of your head and into your body, and give you the chance to let go of the day for a little while.

And, as in the fall session, each Yoga class will give you what you need to help reduce belly fat, and promote healthy aging through perimenopause and beyond.

Here’s why Yoga is a great idea for fat loss:

  • It combines physical movement with breathing and relaxation, all of which reduce stress and anxiety, and therefore help to reduce belly fat
  • It helps strengthen your muscles, in particular your core, which will in turn help improve your posture, strengthen your bones
  • It helps improve your balance and focus, which will help reduce injury, and keep you moving towards your goals
  • And most of all , it’s an all around great way to connect with your body and mind and help you bring awareness to what’s working and what’s out of balance.

Yoga actually helped me find balance at a difficult time in my life.

Although I’ve already shared this story of how I found yoga, I think sharing it with you will help you understand why I value it so much:

I tried Yoga for the first time just over 10 years ago when I was injured with a hairline fracture in my pelvis, and couldn’t run; even walking was painful.

Life was hectic with a full-time job, two little kids, and a recent divorce.

To be honest, I wasn’t super excited about Yoga, but I knew it was a calm, no-impact activity that I could do.

So I joined a class.

And, unexpectedly, I fell in love.

Yoga got me to stop and notice my body, which was pretty tight and sore, mostly from the stress I’d been under.

Yoga had me really notice and feel my breathing, which I’d never really paid attention to, and showed me how to use it to reduce my anxiety.

Yoga really helped slow down my incessant go-go-go mind, which allowed me to stop and experience life from a whole new perspective.

Yoga, not just the physical practice, but the deeper spiritual component, helped me feel connected to others at a time when I felt alone.

As I continued to practice, I knew that I wanted more.

So less than three years later I became a certified teacher.

That was 2013.

And now, here I am, heading into 2021, in the middle of a pandemic, perimenopausal, and more passionate about Yoga than ever.

If you’ve never tried Yoga before, my classes are simple and easy to follow.

I teach at a comfortable pace and give you as much instruction as I can.

I’m also available between classes for your questions and comments, including ideas for any modifications you might need.

Are you ready to do Yoga with me?
