A challenging time… Time for a challenge

This has been a hugely strange week for me and you and the whole planet.

All of us, world wide, are affected by this one health event.

And I know it can be scary.

For sure, if we watch the news too often, or project too far into the future what this could mean, we can definitely bring ourselves down.

So I think right now, the best thing we can do, is to shift our focus and keep our spirits lifted.

We’re all in the same uncertain boat, together.

And we need to support each other, even if it’s from afar, to keep ourselves healthy physically and emotionally.

Especially my community, who are mostly women like me, over 40, there’s a need to keep healthy.

It’s time to do all we can to boost our immune systems and take care of each other.

And there are simple things you can do, right from your home, that can make a difference, besides washing your hands.

Start moving… Just get up and use your body.

Walk, run, dance, get silly!

Whatever kinds of moves make you happy, do them.

Eat foods that lower inflammation in your body.

I’m talking fresh foods like green leafy veggies and fruits like berries and oranges; fish – especially those with omega-3 like salmon and mackerel;  seeds like pumpkin and flax, and nuts, like almonds and walnuts; and olive oil.

Try staying away from anything fried, sweetened, or refined (packaged stuff.)

Finally, do things that calm your body and mind.

I love me some meditation, especially using the Headspace app, but there are all kinds of other ways.

Try yoga (Yoga with Adriene is always a good choice), reading poetry, or writing things you’re grateful for in a journal.

Stress is inflammatory in your body.

And it’s easy to get stressed at this uncertain time.

So create a daily practice to allow your body to stop pumping out the stress hormones.

To help you out, I’m bringing back my 10-day spring challenge.

For 10 days starting this Wednesday, I’m offering a free daily build-up exercise practice to boost your immune system, reduce menopause belly, and just feel better all over.

It’s called the 10-Day Immune Boosting, Belly Fit Build-Up to Spring Challenge!

Yes, it’s a mouthful but it’s simple, fun, and will get you moving.

And each day I’ll add an extra idea or two to keep you healthy and sane during these next two weeks and beyond.

Are you ready to get this done?

It starts on Wednesday, March 18th.
