Energize yourself by going GREEN this summer

I would never have thought a color could affect health.

But colors do impact us.

Not only emotionally and psychologically, but physically as well.

GREEN, in particular, is a color that not only represents health and well-being…

It can literally transform your health and well-being.

GREEN is also associated with growth, renewal, and calm.

So, I think we could all use a little more green in our lives.

I mean, if a color can make you healthier, why not make it work for you?

Here are some ideas for introducing more GREEN into your life this summer:

1. See GREEN

When you live in a place with long, cold winters, the green outdoors isn’t available all year long.

So, when summer arrives, it’s time to immerse yourself in GREEN.

In fact, just seeing the GREEN outdoors reduces your stress, boosts your energy, and enhances your creativity.

The effects of the color GREEN have been studied, and here are some other ways it can make a difference:

  • In hospitals, green is used to calm and promote health and healing
  • Working out in a green environment can make exercise feel less strenuous
  • Living in green environments in associated with longer life span and better mental health

So, go for a hike in the mountains, swim or kayak in a lake surrounded by trees, or walk barefoot in the grass.

Surround yourself with GREEN today.

2. Eat GREEN

Gardening is a great summer activity.

And actively planting, growing, and eating your own produce is next level.

But even if you aren’t growing your own, eating GREEN is one of the healthiest things you can do for your body.

In fact, doctors, nutritionists, and health practitioners recommend eating as many GREENS, in particular leafy greens, as you want.

Leafy greens are loaded with vitamins (C, E, K, and many of the Bs), minerals (iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium), phytonutrients (lutein, betacarotene, zeaxanthin), and fibre.

And because of they’re so nutrient dense, there are huge benefits to eating lots of GREENS regularly:

  • Weight loss
  • Lower cholesterol
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Less sugar-induced emotional roller-coaster rides
  • Less risk of diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.

And summer is an easy time to find and discover all kinds of fresh GREENS.

So, experiment with salads, stir fries, and smoothies made with spinach, lettuce, kale, broccoli, arugula, swiss chard, or bok choy.

Personally I love my GREEN smoothies, and green salads with bbq suppers.

What do you love about eating GREEN?

3. Be GREEN

In yoga, the heart chakra is represented by the color GREEN.

It’s the center of compassion, relationship, and giving and receiving unconditionally.

When you’re connected to this chakra you have the capacity to love others and love yourself.

Your energy is balanced, and you have sense of serenity and peace.

I love this.

Essentially, if you’re being GREEN, you’re living authentically, from a place of openness and vulnerability.

And that takes courage.

Just as Kermit the Frog touched on in his famous song…

It’s not easy “bein’ green.”

But if you do, you’ll be rewarded with abundant emotional, mental, and physical health.

Switching to GREEN energy

Over the past two years, our lives have been unbalanced.

And a lot of our decisions have been fueled by fear.

Fear of becoming unhealthy, and even fear of others.

But being afraid. worried, or anxious for this amount of time is in itself unhealthy.

So, I think switching to GREEN energy might be the way forward.

Look to nature.

See the GREEN

Eat GREEN.

And live from a naturally loving, compassionate, and energizing place.

So, allow yourself to be fueled by GREEN energy.

Like nature does.

And you are nature.

And you thrive when you embrace that.
