There are times when I let my mind get high-jacked by the dark side.
Like yesterday…

Don’t you agree that the BEGINNING of pretty much any experience (at least the ones you choose) is kind of exciting?
I’m talking about the spark of a new relationship, the first day of school, getting your dream job, starting your own business, … Hell, even the first day of your new diet or exercise program seems awesome!
But, if you’ve been around the block a few times, you also know how these BEGINNINGS can turn out.
Generally, within a few days or weeks, that starry-eyed enthusiasm begins to fade and you discover EFFORT at your door.

It’s a new month, and that means a brand new challenge.
For August, I’ve got a HIIT (that’s High Intensity Interval Training) challenge for you.
Now, don’t be worried about the name.
Yes, the workouts are intense but they’re also done at YOUR OWN INTENSITY… and they’re short.
Each daily workout is only 4 to 6 minutes in length. No equipment required.
To be honest, this wasn’t the blog I set out to write this week.
In fact, I was going to write about bacteria.
Or more specifically, Probiotics.
And I’ll still do that, but not today.
Today I’m compelled to write about what I’m living at this very moment.
You see, right now as I begin writing this, I’m about 17 hours into a 24-hour fast.
Hey there!
Last summer I shared this story about my friend and client Michelle.
Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since she graduated as an RCMP officer!
She’s now a constable serving a community in the greater Vancouver area.
Just wanted to re-share this story with you.
It’s probably one of the most personally meaningful blogs I’ve ever written…
This is Michelle.
Her journey is an amazing one, and I’d like to share it with you here.
Hey there!
Here’s a blog post appeared late last summer… I got some of the most interesting responses from my audience.
So, I decided to re-publish it.
Not only because it was full of good info, but also because vacation is calling my name…
Enjoy and have a great week!
Did it work for you?
Although this method can work, for a lot of you, losing weight isn’t usually that simple.

Several years ago I came to yoga on my knees (metaphorically, but almost literally).
I was an injured runner, and a more pathetic creature there is not.
In search of something to get my mind off running, and at the same time find a no-impact activity I could actually do with my hairline-fractured pelvis, I discovered yoga.
Conveniently, there was a lunchtime yoga class offered where I was working, so I decided to try it out.
Although I felt AWKWARD and UNCOORDINATED in that first class (and for most of that first year), I noticed that afterwards my body felt RENEWED.
As a coach, the most popular excuse that I hear for not doing a workout is some version of “I didn’t have time.”
It can sound like:
We all make excuses for not having time to fit in a workout. I’ve done it too.
And I think part of the reason we do this is because we believe that exercise has to take up a BIG CHUNK of time.

Eighteen years ago I had my first conscious exposure to the mind-body connection.
That year I suffered the miscarriage of my first pregnancy.
Although I was only 11 weeks along, and it was explained to me how common miscarriages are, I was still emotionally devastated.
And because of the miscarriage, I needed to undergo an operation.

Especially as summer approaches, I frequently get asked this question:
“How can I get rid of cellulite?”
It’s a great question.
So I did a little digging…
